PARIS LA DÉFENSE
A redevelopment geared towards open, shared workspaces

A local public body, Paris La Défense is responsible for the development, operation, animation and promotion of its territory. The Paris La Défense teams work daily to develop and modernise the district through innovative property and urban projects. Paris La Défense’s main objective is to transform this district into a real place to live.

Following an initial project to lease 3 floors (R17, R18, R19) in Tower B of Cœur Défense in 2018, Paris La Défense has once again worked with Kardham to rethink the layout of its offices on two floors.

The introduction of teleworking and then a flex office organisation were two key factors in the reorganisation of the workspaces to limit vacancies and improve the employee experience.

The premises at Paris La Défense are now equipped with meeting rooms and videoconferencing facilities, offering the possibility of collaborating face-to-face and with geographically dispersed teams.

The deployment of Smart Workplace solutions aims to optimise the use of these spaces. Presence sensors, coupled with the room reservation calendar, display the actual occupancy of spaces.

  1. The presence sensors inform the platform of meeting rooms that are unoccupied despite being booked, and of attendances that have not been booked in advance.
  2. Touch-screen tablets, positioned at the entrance to the rooms, display their availability in real time and are used for on-the-fly reservations.
  3. Optimisation scenarios, based on analysis and/or algorithms, can be used to adjust reservations or automatically release meeting rooms.

As part of our CSR approach, our team has endeavoured to re-use existing equipment (monitors, touch-screen tablets, etc.) as much as possible.
